Social Networks on the Internet and Non-profit Organizations

The role of the Internet in this knowledge society, in which social networks have a great communicational power, make these tools important instruments to power the social work by OSCs and their leaders. Companies, products, services and governments are already interacting daily in these networks.
In this framework, the Computer Science School of the UNLP and the non-profit organization Brisa Social are sponsoring this activity, with the intention of extending the analysis and its scope.

Grandmothers and Mothers of Plaza de Mayo in the Computer  Sience School

On June 1st at 17:30 hrs in room 4, a very special event will take place. The Computer Science School of the UNLP welcomes the organizations Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo and Madres de Plaza de Mayo of La Plata to come and share a heart-warming moment and tell the stories of their everyday struggle, their feelings, doubts, achievements and thoughts.
This session is framed in the School’s anniversary and everyone interested in attending is welcome.

LINTI staff in the Anexa School

As of May 27th, Lia Molinari and Paula Venosa will be giving a series of lectures entitled "Enjoying the Internet Safely. Information Security Awareness", at the Escuela Graduada Anexa of the UNLP. These lectures are aimed at primary students from the 4th grade on, and their goal is to raise awareness and educate on prevention, protection, and responsible use of the existing technologies. This event is part of the University Extension project of the Computer Science School entitled "Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf in Cyberspace".
Spanish translation of the book "Learning Computing With Robots". The translation, the work of Celia Guichal, was produced in collaboration with IPRE (Institute for Personal Robots in Education), and revised by Claudia Banchoff T.

PSI "Digital Inclusion 2009" Award

The LINTI was presented with the PSI "Digital Inclusion 2009" in December 2009. The award is aimed at the Community Techonological Centers of the PSI Network and NGOs and university extension areas that work on activities linked to the reduction of the Digital Divide. The project won in category C: Non-Governmental and/or University Extension Initiatives. Project: ?E-waste: recycling with social means?, directed by Lic. Javier Díaz and CC Viviana Ambrosi.
